From The Head of School Minimize

Dear WAPCS Community,

Thanks to all the parents who participated in the Loving Literacy Night at the PABC Campus.  Your pride for your children’s’ accomplishments was evident.  Our student presentation testimony before the City Council was a success.  The Council Chair as well as several members questioned our students about what they loved about WAPCS and the reasons they wanted a District of Columbia School building.  Our students responded truthfully and with enthusiasm.

We are beginning our special programs to prepare our students for testing.  In addition to continual sound instruction, the teachers are having test practices each afternoon.  During test practice times, students will focus on test-taking skills and staying on task.  Teachers are using test prep materials in addition to regular instructional materials. Our Power Communicators and our Distance Learning Mentor Programs are just getting underway at the middle school level.
